Today, the Secretariat published the second issue of Energy Community Connected – News across the Energy Community Region. This issue provides the latest information on the state of play of gas and electricity sector reforms in Ukraine. Key gas sector developments in the entire Energy Community Region are widely assessed, including the EU antitrust case against Gazprom. A contribution from Jean-Arnold Vinois, Honorary Director at the European Commission and Energy Union Adviser at the Jacques Delors Institute, provides a unique insight into the emergence of European energy governance.
Energy Community Connected is designed to provide up-to-date information and analysis of energy issues with high relevance for both the Energy Community Contracting Parties and EU Member States. The geographical focus of this newsletter reflects Title III of the Energy Community Treaty, under which the Energy Community may take measures to create a single energy market. This Title covers the nine Energy Community Contracting Parties – Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo*, former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine – and eight neighbouring EU Member States – Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
